Formed in the humble prairie town of Vermillion, South Dakota, Humbletown has emerged as a powerful multi-genre bluegrass-inspired ensemble. Now based out of the Black Hills, the band is inspired by the quiet beauty of pine-filled forests, with original songs inspired by their home and travels, intricately performed on clawhammer banjo (Morgan Carnes), flatpick guitar (Dylan Lewis), mandolin (Evan Ogborn), and upright bass (James Schrag). With music that combines influences of bluegrass, old time, hot club swing, Americana, and classic country, Humbletown will take you on a musical journey that stretches across time and space.

Janice Gilbert is an award-winning songwriter, performer, and music educator.  Gilbert grew up in rural South Dakota.  She writes music using her experiences growing up in the Midwest combined with the craft she learned during her time in Nashville.  Gilbert finds inspiration in the people in her life, most notably in songs like Summer, Stay With Me, written about her son. Gilbert says "I just want to write music that people connect with. We have more shared experiences than we realize and if I can use music and storytelling to connect us with one another, I have hope that we can close the distances between us."

Around his hometown of Montrose, SD, he specializes in dry-stack stone, mosaic tile, and other projects that require an artist's touch. Matt's other art is lesser known, outside of a few people who have been lucky enough to hear him sing around a campfire or in a friend's kitchen.  A gifted song-writer, two of his songs were recently included on Jonathan Byrd's latest album release.
